ART ON THE AVENUE | NEW INSPIRATION FROM CALIFORNIA
ART ON THE AVENUE

I am excited to be participating in Art on the Avenue, Houston’s largest silent art auction and annual fundraiser for Avenue! Funds raised help provide affordable housing to working families, promoting both economically diverse neighborhoods in Houston and the arts. This year I have donated one of my recent paintings, Lotus Study!
The event is adapting to the current circumstances by offering a virtual gallery as well as viewing hours by appointment, so you can view the work of more than 250 contributing artists safely! The event is running from September 15 – 19, 2020. Find out more information on the invite below!

RESTING AND RECHARGING IN CALIFORNIA

I’m lucky enough to be able to take a break from everything and find some time for rest and relaxation in California. The scenery is breathtaking, I can’t emphasize enough how restorative nature can be. As an artist, I’ve always drawn inspiration from the natural world, and I’m almost overwhelmed by the scenery here. I’ve even been able to paint en plein air! Here’s a painting I did of the view from my porch.
After an exciting summer participating in an online ceramics class with the Glassell School, I’m gathering so much inspiration for not only my paintings but my new ceramics practice as well. I’ve been filling my days with hikes in the mountains and walks on the beach; collecting seaweed and flowers that I later press into paper. This way I can preserve them and continue to find inspiration from them when I return to my Houston studio!
